Can meal times be changed?

Can meal times be changed?

If you eat your meal up to 1 hour earlier or later than usual, you are unlikely to have problems as long as you don't change the time gap between taking your insulin and eating. If you use rapid-acting insulin and once daily or twice-daily basal insulin, you will probably not have to be so strict about the hours between meals. If you check your blood glucose, you could try shifting mealtimes by up to 2 hours. Just remember not to exceed 5 hours between the doses if you are using ordinary short-acting insulin. A child will usually be hungry and need something to eat every 3-4 hours anyway.
